The Print Shop: FAQs
How do you pick the designs for The Print Shop?
We tried to pick a mix of popular styles, along with a big helping of totally new
designs. Our hope is that we can continue to grow this collection with prints of all types. We'd love your suggestions!
How is this Print Shop collection different from your other shirts?
Most of our shirts are screenprinted in bulk and stored in a warehouse, ready to ship. These shirts are printed by a 3rd party vendor who will make your shirt to order and ship directly to you. This will help us bring in new styles and colors that we want to offer but can't make in bulk.
What is direct-to-garment printing technique?
Direct-to-garment, or DTG printing, is a method that sprays ink onto garments and is similar to printing on paper. DTG printing technique is an excellent option for those who want to add complex, multi-color designs on t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, and other similar fabric items.
DTG-printed designs soak into the clothing fibers, that way the prints:
- Don’t sit on top of the fabric
- Remain uncracked over time
- Aren’t stiff and feel comfortable for the wearer

CLEANING & CARE
Please see care instructions on inner neck label.
In general, we recommend that you machine wash our apparel inside out, on cold with like colors. Tumble dry low, no ironing and no bleach. In addition, please note that the 100% cotton shirts can shrink about 5 to 10%.
Sweatshirts and Hoodies:
We recommend that you wash our sweatshirts inside out. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent and like colors. Tumble dry low, no iron and no bleach.
Embroidered Sweatshirts and Hoodies:
You will notice a thin, paper-like sheet placed on the inside and embroidered along with the design. This backing acts as a stabilizer and ensures that the designs look good and last a long time. We recommend that you wash our sweatshirts inside out. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent and like colors. Tumble dry low, no iron and no bleach. Do not wring out the sweatshirt or hoodie or wash with zippers or metal objects.
Dishwasher and microwave safe.
Why does my shirt have a vinegar smell?
When unpacking a new shirt or hoodie with a direct-to-garment (DTG) print, you might notice a vinegar-like smell or an off-white residue. Don't worry, that's not unusual - it's from a fixation agent applied during the printing process and it's not permanent.
Fixation agent (sometimes known as pre-treatment) is used for all DTG prints across the industry. It helps the ink bond with the fabric, and without it, the ink would flake off the garment.
The solution is simply to wash the garment! Neither the residue nor the smell is permanent and both should go away after one wash.
